The property’s new landscape enhances the home’s mid-century modern style by using simple materials in a geometric framework that accentuates the home’s iconic style. Unique transitions, access points and views into nature reinforce the classic modern tenant of blurring the inside and outside of a dwelling. Usable and unique spaces were created to make outdoor living a rich experience in this idyllic and quiet home in Bath, Ohio.

Pool Planting Around Artificial Rocks

It was a pleasure and a privilege to work with the owners of this custom home while it was still under construction. The early planning allowed LWB to design the topographic features of the site to fit into the amenities that the clients desired such as an organically shaped swimming pool, a spa, planting, etc.  The extreme grades in the backyard created an opportunity to place the spa overlooking the pool. The unique grading situation also allowed the pool utilities to be built underneath the lawn in a vented room, hidden from view. Waterfalls in the pool and a water wall help to create a relaxing experience in the homeowner's backyard.

This Project was awarded with a coveted Grand Award in Residential Installation $50,001 & Over for the “Aurora Residence” Project by the Ohio Nursery & Landscape Association.

Award Winning Landscape Project - Residence in Hunting Valley, Ohio

The wonderful owners of this old estate wanted a landscape architect to help them design & locate a pool in their backyard. LWB had the privilege of being selected. Upon touring the property, other items of desire were identified such as a vehicular turn-around, pool house, outdoor pavilion, car-park needs and topographic grading challenges affecting drainage around their home. LWB developed a master plan and worked with the owners and contractors in fulfilling their landscape goals. 

Outdoor Entertaining

A big birthday bash was in the works and the owners had only a small patio in their backyard for entertaining. Under an extreme deadline, LWB was able to develop and oversee the implementation of the design for this outdoor entertaining space. The project was finished from design through construction in two months from the initial meeting date.
